Bore da, and good morning Reception

I hope you are all okay and have been getting up to lots of fun things? I have seen some of the wonderful work you have been doing with Mrs Coomer, you have been working so hard at home.

I know you have lots of activities from Mrs Coomer but today is World Ocean Day, I thought we could celebrate that this week. I would you like you to create something about the oceans, maybe you could make or paint a picture, or you could make a model of the ocean using recycling or maybe make a collage of a fish or a shark? You could also do some research into what animals live in the ocean. I can’t wait to see what you create this week.

I have also put some new activities on Spelling Shed for you to have a go at.

Well...today brings me to the last day with my wonderful Reception Class.

Welcome Back Reception,

 

This is our final term in Reception. I am sad I can't see you in our Plaza, to see how tall you have become, how tanned you have become from playing outside and I will miss not getting to hear your stories from the break  we've just had! But... it is important for us to stay safe at home for now with our loved ones.  

This new term brings us to our new topic 'Our Wonderful World'. I have planned some fun activities for you to do over the next fortnight. 

 

As some of you may know, at the end of the week I will be leaving to have my baby...  but you are lucky Reception because  Miss Hodges will be taking over for the rest of the term. In case you can't remember exactly who she is, there is a video below of Miss Hodges reading our Monster book! You may recognise this clip from our reading corner!

 

Parents: 

Please continue to upload to Google classroom, Google Drive or J2E. Miss Hodges will be able to see and mark the work from these platforms. I will also send you her email address by the end of the week. I am still here until Friday 5th June so please do not hesitate to email if you have any questions. Hello Reception, 

 

This week brings us to another exciting week of 'Jumping Jungle' fun! It seems crazy that we have been looking at habitats and we are confided to our own habitats at this time! I do hope another week of staying at home has kept you all safe and well. 

 

This week we also celebrate 'Kindness Week'. I have included lots of activities you can complete with your siblings if you wish. I can't wait to see your wonderful work.

Below is all the planning and resources you will need for the next two weeks of learning. Google Classroom has been set now, so if you have any questions you can ask through that or continue to email me on CoomerR5@hwbcymru.net 

 

Parents: Planning can be either found on the here or on Google Classroom. There were some difficulties with the code so I have invited all the students to join the classroom. It should just be a case of accepting through your child's emails. I look forward to seeing their work uploaded onto Google Classroom, if it is possible for you to do so.

Welcome Back Reception! 

 

I hope you had a lovely time this Easter holiday and that you are all safe and well.

 

This term our new topic is 'The Jungle'. I have lots of activities planned for you this term!

 

*I need your help though, can you help me find an exciting title for our new topic? You may consider something catchy for the title. It could include alliteration, such as Jolly, Jangle, Jungle, or it could even be a question! Email your title suggestions to CoomerR5@Hwbcymru.net. All suggestions will go into a hat on Wednesday 22nd April and one will randomly be selected as our winning title this term. I can't wait to hear your ideas.*

Please find  below the planning for the Week Beginning 23rd March 2020. I have set tasks for the pupils, however if you have different resources, that would work to achieve the learning objectives, then please use them. Every child learns differently, so do not be afraid to adapt the planning to suit your child. 

Please upload the work to J2E, I would love to know how the children are getting on with their tasks and this will help inform my planning for the following week.
