Area by Counting Squares Here is a quick video to demonstrate area by counting squares.

Here is the Learning Menu and all the resources you will need. I hope that you had a lovely Easter break! Our topic for this term is Champions. You are all being champions more than ever at the moment! Even though the Olympics have been postponed until 2021, we will still find out about Japan and Tokyo. We will also be finding out about our heroes. For Maths, I have included a link to a video about finding area by counting squares. If you want a challenge, then calculate the area by multiplying the length by the width of the shape. Remember, the area is the grass in the garden and the perimeter is the fence around the edge. When rehearsing subtraction, you can just stick to the 2 digit numbers. I have included 3 digit numbers here if you want a challenge. You don't have to do them all. Do the level that you think is right for you.

BBC Home Learning Activities BBC have started sharing lessons and learning materials today. They will update it weekly. The Reading lesson Please Mrs. Butler looks really good and I think that would be a great addition to your learning if you have time to do that at some point this week. There are also weekly Maths Challenges and a nice lesson on mapwork that fits well with our topic.
