We will be celebrating NSPCC Number Day on Friday 3rd February. On this day, children take part in a number of maths activities and are encouraged to make a donation of £1 to wear an item of clothing with a number, shape or item connected to mathematics. Be as creative as you wish - I believe some human calculators and number machines embraced the school day last year. Please make your donations via ParentPay to support the work of this worthwhile charity.
We are pleased to announce our Café will be open again to Year 6 families on Thursday 16th February at 1.45pm. Our Year 6 would love to see you!
We have organised an information meeting for all parents and carers to find out more about the trip and ask any questions you may have. The meeting will be on Wednesday 15th February at 5.30pm.
Children are welcome to bring in books they no longer need, post them in the Book Box just outside the hall and then choose a different book to take home and enjoy. Please support the children with their creative and thoughtful idea.
Dragon Bags
Having a New Year clear out? Please remember we are teamed up with Dragon Bags to recycle unwanted clothes and raise funds for our school. The permanent “Drop Box” is located next to the PTA Second Hand Uniform Unit in the car park in Station Road. Please that all items are put in a plastic bag and not dropped “loose” into the Box. Follow this link for a full list of acceptable and unacceptable items https://www.dragonbags.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Acceptable-items.pdf
RSE Workshop
On Friday 3rd February at 9.10am in the School Hall we will be hosting a parental workshop in collaboration with the Healthy Schools Team from Monmouthshire County Council to develop greater understanding of the code and guidance for Relationships Sexuality Education (RSE). Parents will have the opportunity to view and discuss the statutory policy and guidance formulated by Welsh Government and view the themes to develop progression and coverage in line with Curriculum ‘22. This will be a great opportunity for families to become more informed and support the pedagogy being undertaken pertinent to the age of your child(ren).
