  • Weather Crew set up weather station

    Thu 16 Nov 2017

Today, as part of studying climate change, Hannah, Tilly, George and Sam set up a weather station.  They have placed rainfall collectors around the school grounds and have put up gauges outside to measure temperature and humidity.

The Weather Crew will take readings daily and record them using a spreadsheet in the Data Den.  After a month, we will then calculate the averages and compare this data with previous years, to assess the impact of climate change on a local level.

  • Year 4 Multiplication using the grid method

Sat 11 Nov 2017 Mr Bowen
Year 4 parents, having looked at factors and multiples in Maths this week, we will now be moving on to explore how to use the grid method for multiplication. This is a way of more formally recording multiplication calculations, whilst retaining the understanding of the interaction between the place value of each digit. If you visit our Plaza 2 Maths page at http://www.raglanciwvcprimary.co.uk/maths-resources/ you will find a video that shows you how the method works.
