Newyddion! Take a little look at what we have been up to...
Next week the children will be participating in our Enterprise week. Throughout the week the children will be responsible for designing, making, producing, advertising and selling a product of their choice in order to raise funds for their class. The children will be applying their numeracy skills in a range of ways as they budget, plan, design and sell their product. We believe that by creating authentic learning experiences and by children having the opportunity to apply their skills in real life contexts really solidifies their learning.
This week each class has been researching different products and have sent representatives to me to ‘pitch’ their idea and request initial funds. The children are expected to make a profit from the products that they sell in order to purchase specific resources for their class, however, as it is Children in Need next week, we are also asking the children to donate 10% of their profit to Children in Need.
The children will be split into various teams and roles and will certainly be developing their entrepreneurial skills.
On Friday 16th November at 3pm we will be holding our Market. Parents and grandparents are invited to attend and support this event. If you wish your child to accompany you to the sale, please inform the school in the first instance and then collect your child from the plaza at 2:50pm
Monday 12th to Friday 16th November 2018
Next week we will be supporting Anti Bullying Week.
To launch this we are inviting children to wear “Odd Socks” to school on Monday 12th November. This is to celebrate what makes us unique.
Throughout the week the children will be participating in assemblies and activities to promote and support anti-bullying. Please support us at home and talk about anti-bullying with your child.
Re: After School Golf Sessions
As you may have heard, Raglan Golf Club has now closed. We have been in contact with Mr Murphy who has confirmed that he will be taking the After School Golf Lessons tomorrow (7th November). However, obviously at this time, we are uncertain about any other lessons.

Thank you.

All Year 6 pupils, over half-term, please can you collect plenty of jars (large enough to safely house a tealight). I will reveal what these are for next week...
Also, please bring in items for a Reverse Advent Calendar. Something that you would like to have in your advent calendar - a small bar of chocolate or a small packet of biscuits perhaps? This could also include a nice scented soap maybe? We are going to put together the calendar throughout November. I will then take the calendar to Abergavenny Foodbank so that a family who may be struggling can enjoy opening up a special Advent Calendar. If everyone bought 1 or 2 items in, we might even be able to make two!!
Hope you're enjoying half-term...I am!!
See you all soon, Mrs E ![]()
Please see the Book Club in the Year 6 section of the Plaza 3 web page for details of the book choices for the second half of Autumn Term. Happy reading! Mrs E ![]()
