Supporting Young Carers/ Cefnogi Gofalwyr Ifanc

A young carer is someone under the age of 18 years old who cares for a family member who, due to illness, disability, or a mental health condition, cannot cope without their support. The types of support that we can offer a young person will depend on whether they have been formally referred to us or whether they have met our team as part of our awareness raising school and community-based activities. It is important to note that to be entitled to all the support options below requires a formal referral and assessment into our service:

  • Receiving the twice yearly newsletter.
  • Invites to social and leisure activities.
  • 1:1 support.
  • Group support.
  • Invites to participate in the young carer’s forum.
  • Information and signposting to grants and other young carer entitlements.
