Amber Weather Warning - Storm Goretti

As you may be aware there is an Amber Weather Warning is in place from this evening through to tomorrow morning due to Storm Goretti.

The Met Office reports:

“Heavy snow, associated with Storm Goretti, is likely to lead to disruption and dangerous travelling conditions Thursday night into Friday.

Please be aware of the following potential impacts:

  • Travel delays on roads are likely, with the possibility of vehicles and passengers becoming stranded.
  • There is a good chance that some rural communities could become cut off.
  • Power cuts are likely, and other services such as mobile phone coverage may be affected.

Until tomorrow morning, it is difficult to predict the full effects of the storm.

We will endeavour to make a decision regarding school opening by 7:30am.

Please note that decisions are based primarily on one or both of the following factors:

  • Site safety
  • Staffing levels

Many of our staff travel into Raglan and this will be a determining factor regardless of snow levels in Raglan itself.

Please check your emails, the school website and Monmouthshire County Council website for updates tomorrow morning.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this period of uncertainty.
