Health and Wellbeing Heroes
At Raglan CIW VC Primary School, our Health and Wellbeing Heroes play a vital role in promoting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing across the school community. Made up of passionate and caring pupils from all year groups, the Health and Wellbeing Heroes are dedicated to making our school the healthiest and happiest place it can be. They listen to the voices of their peers, gather ideas, and help shape a positive school environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
Our Journey (2024/25)
Autumn Term
The Health and Wellbeing Heroes started their year by choosing new Mental Health Ambassadors who will listen to and feedback worries/ ideas from pupils across the school in future meetings. As Autumn Term progressed, we listened to pupil feedback regarding the Daily Mile and explored fun games/ activities we could introduce during this time and at play time. Following a meeting with governors, we discussed ways in which we could promote drinking water across the school.
Spring Term
The Health and Wellbeing Heroes launched a Drink Water Poster Competition where we challenged the school to create a poster encouraging people to drink more water, highlighting the benefits of drinking water for physical and mental wellbeing. After judging the competition, we displayed the entrees around the school to inspire pupils, staff and visitors to drink more water. We composed a letter to a local business, inviting them to support our journey to promote the drinking of water through the sponsorship of new water bottles for our school.
